During February I had a decent Body Shop haul . I bought quite a few products, including two items from Drops Of Youth range. I began using them on the 23th of February . Now it is time to review them.
Drops of Youth™ Youth Cream
I first tried it from a little sampler package and I fell in love. It is a very airy cream, soft, and moisturising. The cream has subtle fresh scent. A big plus is that it disappears into the skin quickly. I use it as a morning cream.
The texture of the cream is soft, and airy. It reminds me a bit of a whipped egg yolk. It is easy to apply on the skin with the little spatula. I don’t suggest dipping your fingers into any cream because of the possibility of contamination. At least I feel uncomfortable if I think of scooping face products on my skin with my fingers.
The smell of the cream is fresh. When I close my eyes and breathe in the scent, springtime comes to mind. You know, the scent after the rain on a chilly, sunny afternoon?
Does it give my skin a “youthful-looking bounce” as it promises? I don’t know because I haven’t lost it yet. I use the cream only because I like how it feels on my skin, and it smells nice. Also, the cream is a good moisturiser.
Drops of Youth™ Bouncy Sleeping Mask
This was another repurchase.
I’ve been using my current jar from last May. It is almost empty so I had to buy another one. I use it as the last step in my evening skincare routine. It is a leave on night mask which moisturises, and makes my complexion clearer while I sleep. I talked about the mask in my Evening routine.
The texture of the sleeping mask is jelly-like. If I shake the jar, it wiggles slowly like a jelly without the wiggle. It also stretched when I took a little amount of product. It is really hard to describe how it looks and feels. All I can say, it is rather gel-jelly like cream which has beautiful snow white colour.
The smell of the mask is fresh. The scent is very similar to the youth cream.
The verdict for both products:
Good:
- Moisturising
- Smells nice
- Looks nice
- Concentrated
- Lasts for a long time
Sad:
- Both products are on the pricy side
