August empties

Another month has passed, another bunch of products are used up. This time I managed to finish a lot of products from makeup to hair care. It’s a longer post so grab a drink and make yourself comfortable. Without further ado, let’s get into this.

Hair care

Marc Anthony Macadamia Oil Conditioner

It was a good conditioner. It had a bit thicker consistency than most conditioners. It promised strengthen and hydrate, along with restoring the luminous shine. Did it do all that? I guess, because my hair did look good. I had no tangles or dullness.

Would I repurchase? Maybe

Tahe Botanic mask for coloured hair

I bought this a year ago, used it for a few months, and then forgot about it. At the end of June I discovered it again. It is a conditioning treatment with triple action: regenerating, antiradical and revitalising. It contained argan oil, poppy oil, and rosewood oil. So, all good things. After using it my hair was shiny and soft.

The only bad thing about the product was, that I found it difficult to rinse out. Since I have long hair, it took a bit of effort to make sure no product is left in. Other than that, I liked the mask.

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask

This mask was suitable for combination/oily skin since it purifies, cleanses, and controls excess oil. I loved how soft my skin felt after the mask. My face was clean, smooth, and the redness was reduced.  Plus, I looked like the better, sexy half of Voldemort while wearing the mask. It was totally a win-win situation.

Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover

The eye makeup remover did a fantastic job. When I used it, I held a cotton pad on my eyes for fifteen seconds. After that I gently wiped my eye makeup off.

This formula was gentle on the eyes. I didn’t have to rinse my eyes after or feel any soreness. I was positively surprised with the product. Plus, did I mention how good the packaging looks? Within a few months it has become a holy grail product. About my other holy grail products you can read here

Garnier Skin Naturals Essentials Ultra-cleansing wipes

These were one of the most disappointing cleansing wipes I have used. If I pay seven bucks for a pack of cleansing wipes, I expect them to work. On the package it says that they remove even waterproof makeup. They even had trouble removing not waterproof makeup.

Would I repurchase? No.

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes

They removed makeup gently and left my skin feeling fresh. The best thing about these was, I could remove my eye makeup with them. They didn’t make my eyes sting afterwards, which was a big plus. I usually used makeup wipes right after I get home. I take most of the makeup off with them and before bed I go through my evening routine.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser samplers

Since one sampler is two uses for me, then these all together lasted for four days. I can’t really say much about the moisturiser based on four days. I know that they left me with a really good impression. I might even buy a full size jar when I finish my current daily moisturiser.

Would I repurchase? N/A

NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder

The powder gave a matte, luminous glow. I have quite oily skin and sometimes it can get shiny throughout the day. With this powder I didn’t have to worry, It kept my skin’s shininess at bay without a problem. During the summer, it was a big plus.

Would I repurchase? Yes

H&M Perfectionist Finishing Powder in the shade Cream

It was a nice powder. The powder did it’s job and stayed on quite well. The tone was also a match for me. It was my travel powder. The packaging was thin and didn’t take much space. The only complain on my side is the design. I find white shiny plastic packagings really tacky.

Would I repurchase? Yes

CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara

This was the mascara I have used from May to August. It curled lightly, separates, added bit volume and made my eyes pop. Only bad thing was that it wasn’t as black as I wish it to be. It was like Maybelline Lash Sensational´s younger sister. The Covergirl mascara was almost like Lash Sensational while not being it at all. I mean, it was a good mascara but nothing too impressive.

Would I repurchase? No

Etam Push Up Regard Crayon A Paupieres Longue Tenue

It was eyeshadow in creamy pencil form. I had it in the tone 02 Peche A La Ligne. I used it as a basecoat for my eyeshadow. The Etam´s eyeshadow pencil worked really well as an eyelid primer. It held all thBeae colours in place and made them pop more.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Beauty blender and Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Neither of the sponges looked the same as they were when they were new. The RT sponge suffered under my cat´s claws at some point and BB just is out of shape and colour. I washed them every week and used every day. I loved them both. You can read the comparison of the both here.

The Body Shop Sweet Almond Oil Nail Polish Remover

I bought it in November 2015  when I had The Body Shop Haul. This was the nail polish remover I used the most in January. The nail polish remover had a mild almond scent. While using it, the product moisturised the nails too. This product removed the polish quickly and without having to rub it forcefully.

Would I repurchase? Yes

JOIK Refreshing foot bath salt

The product looked like coarse grain salt. It dissolved easily in warm bath water.

The smell of the bath salt was on a stronger side. I usually did a foot bath after long days of being active. After the foot bath my feet were much more relaxed and less tired. It also brought a really good night sleep. I wrote a full review about it too not long ago. You can read it here.

JOIK Lemon & Vanilla Body Scrub

It was a lemon and vanilla scented body scrub with sugar, mineral-rich sea salt, cocoa butter, shea butter, and sea buckthorn oil. I have to admit that I didn’t like this scrub at all. The scent was kind of okay. I am not a fan of lemon scented products either way so that was expected. If you like lemon scent, you probably would have loved this. Now if I come to other features of product, I still didn’t like it. The texture was very grainy. It was hard to smear on the body without dropping chunks of scrub on the floor of the shower. I had to put effort into my actions to get it out of the container, smear it on my body and make it stay on. On the bright side, it was really easy to rinse it off.

  1. So many empties this month!
I’m so envious that Body Shop Camomile makeup remover works for you! It’s fantastic at removing makeup, but it broke me out! 😦 Now I use it to wipe swatches off my arm, lol.
I’m currently using the Clump Crusher and don’t love it either. Have never tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational, though!

  2. Great post! I love how you mention if you will repurchase the product or not. I have used the Body Shop’s normal eye makeup remover but didn’t like it very much as I found it a bit drying. I agree though about the NYX powder- it’s a great drugstore powder! xo J

    • I think that the verdict to buy or not to buy puts a final seal on the product. I have always preferred to use makeup removers which take waterproof makeup off too. You know, just in case I should get a waterproof makeup product. Thank you for reading! 😊

  3. Great picks and I love those macadamia conditioner and hair mask as both looks so promising. Also, I love those simple facial wipes and I religiously use them every single day to wipe off makeup and vitamin c glow boost moisturiser looks so ravishing – love them
